About the event

Introduction to Working Equitation (WE) Clinic

A perfect introduction to the sport or an opportunity of progression for the more experienced rider. Suitable for all levels of horses and riders, and absolutely any breed, WE is not just for Iberians!

Working Equitation is the up-and-coming equestrian discipline taking off in the UK and already very popular all over the World. If you haven't yet discovered what it's all about, then here's your chance to find out how to get started, and some inspiration for training at home. Training WE has multiple benefits to transfer to other disciplines, with the main cross over being dressage, but whether you normally compete in eventing, SJ hunting, ridden showing, etc everyone can find a fun challenge and benefit for their horse in the sport.

WE competitions are held all over the UK with Team, Regional and National competitive opportunities, with 5 different levels starting at walk and trot, all the way up to PSG equivalent, there really is something for everyone. Competitions are three phase, first is the dressage, then the ease of handing around a course of obstacles, and finally the really fun part - the speed round!

We are delighted to welcome to Meadowbrook, Holly Barber - Having ridden for Team GB 11 times, was ranked 6th in the world at the last International World Championships, she is a level 4 trainer and national judge for the governing body - it's fair to say Holly is well known in the sport of WE!

Holly and her family run a training yard in Norfolk - Pine Lodge School of Classical Equitation, where they take horses in for schooling, training and backing, as well as teach riders on their own horses. Holly will explain the basics of what you need to know about this exciting and commonly underestimated sport, and help you begin to navigate your way around a course of ridden obstacles.

Sessions will last one hour and are at a cost of £55 per rider for a shared session of two, cost includes arena hire of our new outdoor 25 x 45m. You do not need any special tack, your horse does not need to be incredibly fit, and young or inexperienced horses are more than welcome, so what are you waiting for!

Venue – Meadowbrook Equine Therapy, Valley Farm, Stafford ST18 9FB
