The Meadowbrook Story

Experienced. Professional. Supportive.

Meadowbrook was established in 2014 by Sarah Davenport, initially offering sports massage treatments, thermal imaging and class 3b laser therapy to a large equine client base in the Midlands. 2016 saw the addition of a Derbyshire based 15 box rehabilitation yard to Meadowbrook, catering primarily for racehorses. In 2020 Cheshire based Alison Gregg joined the team, bringing over 35 years of experience to the business, Alison also heads up the Academy as our Principle Tutor.

About Us: About Me

Our Ethos

We are a small but very supportive team, we deliver our courses in a way that helps you to really understand equine anatomy. Anyone can pick up a text book and learn the location of the muscles "parrot fashion", but that's not us. We view the horse in a holistic way so that we can help you to really improve a horses way of going, by understanding the connections of the entire system.

Director of Education

Sarah has over 30 years experience in a range of disciplines including, eventing, showjumping and more recently as an arab racehorse trainer and competitive endurance rider. Sarah trained with the The College of Animal Physiotherapy and holds a Diploma in Equine Sports Massage & Rehabilitation. She is also trained in the use of a class 3b laser, thermography, myofascial release and is currently continuing her studies in equine osteopathy & as an equine ergonomist.

Due to a long list of injuries herself, Sarah then focussed on various human massage and movement modalities, to assist with rider injury rehabilitation. In working with the biomechanics of the rider, Sarah noted the affects of tack on the movement of the ridden horse, hence the next logical step for Sarah was to begin to study bit and bridle fit.

Beginning her studies with the Horse Bit Fit Academy, Sarah gained a higher distinction as a LANTRA qualified Advanced Bit & Bridle Fit Consultant, also gaining accreditation as a member of EAPER. She then went on to study with the Neue Schule Academy gaining a distinction in their "Equine Bits & Bitting Science" course, and in 2023 attended Durham University to complete the Neue Schule "Qualified Bit and Bridle Fitter" course, one of only a handful of professionals to have done so, in the UK.
